IDEX 2009 |

After the holidays, life slows down for most of us, but for some, this is no time for rest. Doll and toy companies around the world are  preparing to show off their 2009 stock at trade fairs. Many makers of collectable dolls are currently preparing for one of the biggest doll trade fairs in the US, IDEX. The convention is the first venue of the year for many companies who  unveil their new products. The event is held in Orlando, Florida. This year, the show takes place from January 30th to February 1st.

The companies and products that show at IDEX are diverse, but resin ball jointed dolls will  be a part of  the show. The well known American manufacturers Berdine Creedy Originals and Goodreau Doll Company will be attending.  The Korean company Elf Doll will also be in the main showroom. DollFair International At Atelier Nouveau  and Marbled Halls – BJD Fashions will also be in attendance. In the retail room, there will be displays of items for sale from doll artists including Lady Saiyuki and Bishonen House and clothing and patterns from Affordable Designs, and accessories from Facets. A number of BJD collectors who attend the event will have a get-together.

Award-winning doll costumer Dale Rae of Dale Rae Designs, is giving two workshops at the event, Fitting & Pattern Making Techniques for BJDs, and Sweaters-To-Sew for BJDs (No Knitting Required!)  Dale has graciously volunteered to send reports from the the show .
